The $400 BILLION
CLOSET

The way we buy, sell and think about fashion is
changing. As the global resale market heads toward $400 billion, Mine & Yours is helping shape what the
next era of luxury could look like.
Take a look inside your closet. The designer bag you no longer reach for, the jacket you have been searching for from a past collection or the shoes ready for their next owner are all part of a much bigger shift happening in fashion.
For Mine & Yours, this is not simply about more people buying pre-loved. It is about changing the way people think about owning luxury altogether.
The Vancouver-born brand has spent 13 years building an elevated approach to resale, creating a circular model where clients can both shop and sell. Across its stores and e-commerce platform, clients can discover designer handbags, accessories, ready-to-wear, shoes and menswear while unlocking value from pieces already sitting in their wardrobes.
The global resale apparel market is heading toward $400 billion by 2030 and is projected to grow twice as fast as the overall apparel market. Gen Z and Millennials are expected to drive more than 70 per cent of that growth.

Collectors have always understood that new does not automatically mean better. A rare watch or a sought-after piece from a past collection can become more desirable with time. That same mentality is now transforming fashion.
The appeal is not necessarily about paying less. It is about finding something exceptional, enjoying it and knowing there is an opportunity to pass it on when you are ready for what comes next.

“Luxury car collectors have always understood that something doesn’t need to be new to be valuable,” says Mine & Yours owner Courtney Watkins. “We’re seeing that same mentality enter fashion. Clients want exceptional pieces, access to designs they can’t find elsewhere and the freedom to pass them on when they’re ready for something new.”
Menswear represents a growing opportunity within that circular closet. Research shows that men are three times more likely to exclusively buy luxury and 1.5 times more likely to regularly clean out their closets than before. That makes them valuable buyers, but also potential sellers with significant value sitting unworn in their wardrobes.
That changing relationship with our closets is also creating an opportunity for Mine & Yours to think much bigger.
Mine & Yours is responding by expanding its selection of pre-loved designer menswear, including sought-after pieces that may be sold out, discontinued or difficult to find through traditional retail.
“We’ve spent 13 years building Mine & Yours in Canada, and now we’re looking at where the brand can go next,” says Watkins. “We’re expanding

into new cities, growing our partnerships and exploring opportunities beyond Canada. It feels like we’re entering an entirely new chapter.”
While international opportunities are part of the longer-term vision, strengthening the brand’s presence in Canada remains the immediate priority. Partnerships, including one with a leading Canadian department store, offer a way to introduce resale within a traditional luxury environment and reach new markets without relying solely on standalone stores.
The strategy reflects a broader shift within the industry. Resale is no longer operating outside traditional luxury retail. It is increasingly becoming part of how consumers discover, buy and sell designer fashion.
For Chief Brand Officer Sophia Koumbis, maintaining the experience and community behind Mine & Yours is essential as the company grows.
“I’m always thinking about the bigger picture, from our brand aesthetic to all of the details that make Mine & Yours what it is,” says Koumbis. “The most important part for me is elevating the customer journey, strengthening our culture and driving the future of Mine & Yours. I’m a big believer in

In the end, this shift is less about where people shop and more about how they think about ownership. Luxury no longer has to mean buying something new and keeping it forever. Increasingly, it means choosing well, enjoying what you own and knowing when it is time to let it move on.
