SKY takes flight
After a humble beginning with just two pilots and two helicopters, SKY Helicopters has since grown to a 15-person team and six helicopters, with continued expansion plans still on the horizon.
SKY Helicopters first took flight in 2011 and quickly established a truly unique and fun experience, orchestrated and crafted to cater to a variety of themes.
Perhaps it’s just a breathtaking flight to marvel at the splendor that is beautiful British Columbia, or maybe it’s one of their more adventurous tours; a craft beer experience; or even champagne flights and backcountry proposal packages (the ultimate setting to pop the question). “We’ve welcomed thousands of guests from over 70 countries worldwide,” he adds.

Westlund’s company was his high school dream, the culmination of his passion for helicopters and his sincere desire to fly.

“As someone who has always had a passion for helicopters, I became a pilot early on and purchased my own helicopter so I could bring the experience to my business associates and clients. “I quickly saw the opportunity to share this incredible adventure with visitors to Vancouver from around the world, and established SKY Helicopters as a tourism company.
” Based out of SKY Hangar, located in suburban Pitt Meadows, the facility features an expansive 6,000 sq. ft. open concept design with twenty foot ceilings, and provides the ideal setting for bringing various events to the space.
“SKY Hangar was built on a vision of creating a world-class corporate event space,” says Westlund. “We can host business meetings, galas, movie productions and celebrations, all in a state-of-the-art, functional aircraft hangar. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind space for the Greater Vancouver area.”
